Clann Lochlan / Clan MoonRacer Alliance

On November 3, A.S. XXXVI (2001), Clann Lochlan entered into an alliance with Clan MoonRacer. The Accord of Alliance was signed at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Medieval Faire in Simpsonville, South Carolina. This auspicious occasion marked the joining of two of the largest households within the Barony of Nottinghill Coill in the Kingdom of Atlantia. Below is the text of the Accord of Alliance, as well as photographs from the signing event.

Let it be known to the Society for Creative Anachronism, to everyone whom it may concern, and to all whom it may in any manner belong, that Lady Caitríona inghean Ghiolla Phádraig chieftainess of Clan MoonRacer, and Lord Artúr MacLochlainn, chieftain of Clann Lochlan, being resolved to unite the efforts of their respective households toward collective defense and the preservation of peace and security between them, hereby agree to join in Alliance.

The Parties to this Treaty affirm their truth
in the purposes and principles of:

A common desire to preserve peace between the two households,
An honorable aspiration to safeguard the freedom and individual liberty and promote the stability and well-being of their members,
A sincere willingness to promote just and honorable relations between their members,
A lawful duty to settle any dispute in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that peace, security and justice are not endangered,
A respectful intention to consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any member is threatened, and
A strong determination that an attack against one member of either house shall be considered to be an attack against all members of both houses. It is also agreed that, should such an attack occur, each household will assist the other through any action, including the use of armed force, that is deemed necessary to restore and maintain the security and peace of their members.
